Malua has carried us across oceans and along some of the world’s great cruising coasts. This website records the yacht, her construction and equipment, the voyages we have made, and some of the experiences and places encountered along the way.
From the Mediterranean and Atlantic to the Caribbean, Pacific and Australian coast, Malua’s story is told through photographs, tracks, cruising notes and stories collected over many years.
Voyages aboard Malua
Malua has sailed in Australia and in the Mediterranean, across the Atlantic and through the Caribbean, then returned home via Panama and the Pacific. Our later cruises explore Australian waters and the near Pacific island.
Mediterranean
Malua’s extended Mediterranean cruising took us through some of Europe’s finest sailing grounds, exploring islands, and ancient and modern sites while living aboard and travelling at our own pace.
Atlantic, Caribbean & USA
Leaving the Mediterranean, Malua continued west across the Atlantic to the Caribbean, Cuba and onwards to the United States — a major passage and a very different chapter in our cruising life.
Pacific & Home
From the Americas, the voyage continued across the Pacific through its islands and cruising grounds before I returned to Australia, where the sailing and exploration continue closer to home.
